Welcome to Bankhead Elementary!
We are a proud, growing school in the central zone of our district, Central Okanagan Public Schools, and are honored to acknowledge that Bankhead is on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People. Our Bulldog community includes approximately 420 students from kindergarten to grade 6.
Our dedicated staff works every day to create differentiated learning experiences that meet the needs of each learner in our community. We work closely with families to ensure that, as a team, we are supporting our children holistically.
Our Parent Advisory Council is another integral part of our learning community. They meet monthly to organize special events and fundraisers, and to support ongoing school initiatives such the new projector system in our gym. These fundraising efforts provide numerous activities and resources for the school and allow us to offer a diverse program beyond the curriculum. Additionally, we have volunteers who contribute their time and energy to support student learning through activities such as One-to-One reading, supervising field trips, extra-curricular team sports, and assisting with classroom activities.
We also have a strong relationship with the City of Kelowna whom house an after-school care program as well as many community events in the evenings.
Our family of Bulldog is vibrant, exciting, and expanding. We welcome new learners into our diverse learning community.
